Masquerade Ball for Adults

For dancing and listening, M.T.O. Universal Praha

The ball season is the annual culmination of the cultural year. Ball period is a show not only of the beautiful clothes and jewels that make every woman lady, but also elegant suits and perfectly polished cufflinks. This year's ball season at Střelnice will offer the opportunity to come to the ball as you would not have imagined, a Masquerade Ball!

The history of the balls dates back to the 15th and 16th centuries and the first balls are the events of the Spanish and French royal courts. The balls at that time had a clear order, and the dance was something much more demanding and sophisticated than what dance is to be seen today. Over time, balls, though still reserved by the nobility, became popular entertainment in other countries. During the 19th century, the balls expanded so much and changed their form, that they also began to call themselves "beasts" and organized by various societies.

Masquerade balls in Europe write their history from the 18th century, when the balls were coming in masks. Scars also appear on the scene and serve only to cover personal identity. And with this idea, masquerade balls are taking place today. With mask or scratch, we become other people, so it is only up to you to become this year!

At this year's, first-ever Masquerade Ball, you will be able to dance and listen to the unique group of M.T.O. Universal Praha, which can be described with some exaggeration as the most original music club of this country. In their repertoire, all the hits are across the music scene from the 1960s to the present. Look forward to František Skála, Tomáš Hanák, Zdeněk Lhotský, Lenka Vychodilová and other famous artists who will make the course of the evening with songs from Elvis Presley and Tom Jones through Frank Sinatra and Pavel Liška to Jan Kratochvíl and Hanka Zagorová. Besides, the whole orchestra also performs in original costumes and the singers change them to almost every song.

Come along with us to write history and do not forget your masks!
